| THE AKBA YOUTH FOLKDANCE ENSEMBLE TOURING SEASON HAS BEGUN!! Welcome to the (temporary) AKBA website! The American Karachai-Kavkaz Benevolent Association is a non-profit organization devoted to the study and preservation of the Karachai and North Caucasus cultures. AKBA achieves this goal with a commitment to learning and teaching the history, language, religion, folk-dances and folk-music of the Karachai people, an ancient community living for thousands of years among the peaks of the North Caucasus mountain range.
