Barbara was the first female to win the McCutcheon Trophy,
an award for the person who wins the most masterpoints in the year
She was also the youngest winner of the McCutcheon Trophy, a feat which applies today.
At the time she became a Grand Master she was the youngest person in Australia ever to achieve this master point ranking.
Barbara first represented Australia in Women's bridge in 1981.
She has represented Australia numerous times since at the World Bridge Olympiad, Venice Cup, Pacific Asia Bridge Federation Championships and Zonal Championships.
Elizabeth Havas, her current partner, and Barbara were the first women's pair to represent Australia in an Open bridge team. They played in the Open team at the Pacific Asia Bridge Federation Championships in Kobe, Japan in 1998.
She has won numerous national championships since 1979.
