Why am I running In the New Hampshire Republican primary against George Bush for the Republican nomination? There are three reasons.
1. Because Im one hell of a lot smarter than he is (like a lot of people). I understand the threat of the Rogue States, and the urgency of the threat, far better than he does. America must face down, or destroy, these nations now, immediately, one by one, before they can arm themselves with nuclear weapons. Once they get nukes, and missiles with sufficient range to reach American cities, it will be too late to attack them. If that happens, all we can do is passively wait for World War III.
I have written a political novel about the threat called Strike Now!
To some extent, President Bush understands the nature of the threat. At least he understands it well enough to invade Iraq. But he does not understand the urgency of finishing it off now, quickly, and then moving on to destroy the rest of the Rogue States. Instead, he is lost in some idealistic Oz or Wonderland, trying to turn Iraq into a Western-style democracy. Worse yet, he plans to stay in Iraq till 2006, at the very least, and tie down 100,000 troops there.
Oh, how sweet! What a gentle person he has become. AS for me, I want to tear out Iraqi eyeballs and put them in the microwave. I want to fit a fire hydrant up every Iraqi rear end!
But as for creating democracy in Iraq, can the president get serious for a moment? With the way Iraqis now feel about us, with the way they despise us, they will covert to Judaism before they convert to Western-style Democracy.
2. It would help our struggle against the rogue states immensely if we had allies at our side. But today we have almost none.
I (and almost anyone else) will be a much better diplomat than George Bush. (It would be virtually impossible to be a worse diplomat!) The president has alienated almost every one of our allies by ordering them around as if they were our puppets. Never has a president had less tact. Many former friends like France, Russia and German utterly despise us. Even the allies we have retained are lukewarm at best, with extremely loyal prime ministers (in the U.K. and Australia) staying on our side although their people hate Mr. Bush.
The problem is that Mr. Bush doesnt like other countries. He seems to have contempt for them. He sees them as a necessary or unnecessary evil. I, on the other hand, enjoy other nations. I have lived in Europe, and enjoy it immensely. I would reestablish good relations with our allies immediately.
3. I am a citizen-politician, and not a professional politician. I am ambitious for the nation, and not for myself and my own political career. After all, I have no political career. I am nore than happy to serve the country, and then go home, not one cent richer.
Because of this freedom, I can do things that the politicos can only dream about. Within one year of becoming president, I swear that 100 percent of illegal immigration from Mexico will be stopped. if |
