What are rocks? Rocks started by a volcano erutption and the volcano lava hardened and turned into rock. Also when the earth was formed, it was built with a hard outer crust made with rocks and after a real long time, some of the cover cracked. Our earth is a big rock made with alot of mass and gass grouped together and then it turned into a starlike thing that got bigger and bigger.
