( 8.5 m. ) Time: Early Cretaceous, 132,000,000 years ago Diet: Plants Details: One of the most unusual-looking of the sauropod plant eaters Amargasaurus had a double row of spines running from it's neck to it's tail vertebrae. According to one theory, the spines were a defence against preditors.

Bagaraatan ( bog-uh-rah-tahn ) Lenth: 10ft. ( 3 m. ) Time: Late Cretaceous , 75,000,000 years ago Diet: Meat Details: This meat eater was one of the smallest predators found in the Gobi Desert of southern Mongolia. It prowled Asia. Bagaraatan had a rigid tail with large spines on each tail vertebra.

Iguanodon

Iguanodon ( igg-wah-no-don ) Lenth:33ft. ( 10.1 m. ) Time: Early Cretaceous, 110,000,000 years ago Diet: Plants Details: One of the most famous dinasours and a more primitive relative of the duck-billed hadrosaurs, Iguanodon featured a large thumb-spike used for scraping up plants or perhaps for defense. They were many related forms of Iguanodon around the world. Most were shorter than 30ft. ( 9 m. ) long.

Carnotaurus

Carnotauras Carn-nah-sor-as Lenth: 25ft. ( 7.6 m. ) Time: Late Cretaceous, 80,000,000 years ago Diet: Meat Details: This snud-nosed preditor is unusual in many ways. Hornlike projections on it's skull inspired its "bull" name. It had a distinctive short , deep snout. Its forelimbs were stubby with extremely short lower arm bones. Rare skin impressions were found with Carnotauras remains, indicating small bumps were scattered across this meat-eaters hide.
