Benzoin
This dark brown, translucent tincture is cleanly antiseptic-smelling, and is perfect for increasing business success and sharpening mental powers. It is used in purificatory rituals such as anointing and then burning a white candle. A few drops of benzoin tincture can be added to scented oils and to ointments to preserve them.
Camphor
Use only real camphor. This produces a clear tincture with a penetrating, cool odor. Sniff it to lessen sexual desire. Use it to anoint healing amulets (sachets)or add to Full Moon baths.
Cinnamon
A gorgeous, rich scent. Anoint money sachets, add to money baths, sniff to develop psychic powers, add to protective blends. The tincture is a deep red, almost brownish black hue.
Clove
Another incredible scent. Use in protection and exorcism formulas. Anoint money with clove tincture before spending. Use for love. Makes a transparent, light brown tincture.
Copal
This fine gum from Mexico produces a light yellow, translucent tincture that feels tacky on the skin. Its scent is a combination of frankincense and lemon. Anoint for protection and use in spirituality formulas.
Deerstongue
A warm vanilla scent. Sniff to increase psychic powers. The light green tincture is also used to attract men.
Frankincense
Produces a beautiful golden-colored tincture with a full frankincense scent. Anoint tools, sachets or the body (if you don't mind being sticky). Use for spirituality, exorcism, purification, luck and protection rites. This is one of the best tinctures to use in scenting incense papers.
Galangal
This rootstock produces a light yell tincture smelling of ginger and camphor. Use for luck, money, protection, exorcism and psychic development.
Lavender
This light green tincture can be used to attract love; to produce sleep by anointing your forehead and pillow; to purify by adding to baths, and to promote chastity and peace.
Myrrh
A bittersweet brown tincture. Myrrh is used for spirituality, healing and protection purposes. The scent recalls ancient times and is evocative when mixed with frankincense. Another tincture well suited for use with incense papers.
Nutmeg
A translucent, reddish-orange tincture. Sniff to increase psychic powers, or anoint money, health and luck amulets (sachets).
Patchouly
This heady, earth-scented herb makes an evocative green tincture. It is useful for money, love and fertility purposes.
Peppermint
Though slow-going, the results are worth your efforts. this mint-green tincture is used in money, purification and love rituals. Anoint sleep pillows. Try spearmint, too.
Rosemary
A rich, resinous tincture, yellowish green in color. It can be used for nearly every Magickal goal; love, healing, protection, exorcism, sleep, lust and so on.
Sage
White Sage-produces a powerful, greenish-brown tincture. Its scent is somewhat similar to camphor with a strong "green-note". It is used in healing, purification, obtaining wisdom and protection, and can also be used to anoint wishing amulets or sachets.
Sandalwood
This is another herb that is slow to tincture. Be sure to use ground sandalwood for this and give it a try. This tincture seems to take the longest to "cook", but when finished, smells like sandalwood with a slight cedary odor. Use for protection, spirituality, healing and exorcistic purposes.
Star Anise
This spicy, star-shaped herb produces a sassafras-smelling tincture. Sniff to improve psychic awareness, especially before working with tarot cards, rune stones and other divinatory tools.
Tonka
A rich vanilla scent with a slightly bitter after-note. Anoint money, love, courage and wish amulets (sachets), but do not take internally. Tonka beans are poisonous and, therefore, are becoming harder to obtain.
Vanilla
This familiar culinary herb makes a rich, warm-smelling tincture. It is useful to attract love, to promote physical energy, and to stimulate mental processing.
Wood Aloe
This Malaysian bark produces a tincture smelling of ginger and pepper, highly resinous. It is perfect for anointing sacred tools, the altar, luck and spirituality amulets and talismans.
To reiterate: Don't sniff tinctures until after the alcohol has evaporated from them-after anointing. Once the alcohol evaporates, the herb's scent will blossom before your nose.
Witch's Love Potion

INGREDIENTS
1 teaspoon of dried and crushed basil
1 teaspoon of dried fennel
1 teaspoon of dried European vervain
3 pinches of ground nutmeg
1/4 cup of red wine
DIRECTIONS
Place all of the ingredients into a cauldron. Mix together well, and then place the
cauldron over a fire. Light a pink candle which has been anointed with rose oil,
and say:
"Candle light, warm and bright,
Ignite the flames of love tonight.
Let my soul mate's love
Burn strong for me.
This is my will, so mote it be!"
After the love potion boils for three minutes, remove the cauldron from the fire
and allow it to cool. Strain the cooled liquid through a clean cheesecloth into a
cup. Add a bit of honey to sweeten the potion, and then drink it.
The best times to prepare the Witch's Love Potion, as with all love
potions and love spells, are on Fridays, Saint Agnes's Eve (The night of
January 20), Saint Valentine's Day (February 14), any night of the waxing
moon, and whenever the moon is in the Venus-ruled signs of Taurus
or Libra.

LOVE POTION #9

Materials Needed:
9 oz. sweet red wine
9 basil leaves
9 red rose petals
9 cloves
9 appleseeds
9 drops vanilla extract
9 drops strawberry juice
1 ginseng root, cut into 9 equal pieces
By the light of 9 pink votive candles, put these nine ingredients into a cauldron on the 9th hour of the
9th day of the 9th month of they year. Stir the potion 9 times with a wooden spoon, each time recite
the following magickal incantation:
Let the one who drinks this wine
Shower me with love divine
Sweet Love Potion Number Nine
Make his/her love forever mine
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 9 minutes. Remove from heat
and allow to cool. Blow 9 times upon the potion, bless it in the names of nine goddesses. Strain
through cheesecloth (or coffee filter--it is the 90's thank you). Store in a clean container and
refrigerate until you are ready to serve it to the one from whom you desire love and affection. Do not
allow anyone other than your beloved look at, touch or drink the love potion.
***WARNING: extremely potent and should be used with caution. It's results can be very intense, long-lasting and difficult to control or reverse.***

MONEY BREW
Materials Needed:
3 parts sassafras
2 parts cedar
1 part allspice
1 part clove
1 part dill
1 part vetivert
1 part calamus
Half fill a green glass bottle with fresh water. Add about a handful or so of the mixed, empowered
herbs. Cap tightly and leave in the sunlight all day. At dusk, sniff the water. If the scent is strong,
strain and add to baths, wash hands, anoint money charms and so on. If it isn't strong enough, chill
overnight and return to the Sun the following day.
FLYING OINTMENT (SAFE AND EASY)
Materials Needed:
1/4 cup lard
1/2 tsp. clove oil
1 tsp. chimney soot
1/4 tsp. dried cinquefoil
1/4 tsp. dried mugwort
1/4 tsp. dried thistle
1/4 tsp. dried vervain
1/2 tsp. benzoin tincture
Using mortar and pestle, crush the dried herbs until almost powdered. In small cauldron or saucepan,
heat the lard over low flame until completely melted. Add the herbs, clove oil and chimney soot to the
lard base. Mix well. Add the benzoin as natural preservative. Stir together clockwise and them
simmer ten to fifteen minutes. Strain into a small heat resistant container and allow to cool. Refrigerate
or store in a dark, cool place until ready to use. On the night of a Full Moon, anoint your temples and
Third Eye with a small amount of the ointment prior to astral projection or dream magick.
FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY
FLYING OINTMENT (SAFE AND EASIER)
Material Needed:
1/2 cup shortening
3 tbsp.l mugwort
3 drops dragon's blood oil
Melt shortening over low heat. Add herbs and visualize your intention while stirring. Steep for 9
minutes or until the herb is "fried". Strain into a glass jar. Cool before use. This is safe to use on entire
body but recommend only chakras.
AN ELIXER OF POTENCY
Materials Needed:
2 ounces cochineal
1 ounce gentian root
2 drachms saffron
2 drachms snakeroot
2 drachms "salt of wormwood"
rind of 10 oranges
Lady Wilde's recipe calls for steeping in a quart of brandy "kept fur use". Presumably makes some kind of magick marmalade.
HONEY ELIXER
Boil in eight ounces of water the fresh leaves of sage, thyme, mint, a large spoonful of each, until of
liquid, there be left but an ounce or two. Pour off this brew and when it is cool add to it a teaspoonful
of good brown cider vinegar, and also three ounces of honey, strained fresh from the comb. Stir
these well until the honey is blended and the whole shines clear. Then it may be sipped, from a wine
glass, all or in part. If any is not used, it may be kept in a tightly corked vessel for later draughts. Info

1 oz apple brandy
2 oz apple cider

Oranges of Love
2 oz. soaded and strained gum arabic*
1 cup orange flower water
1 oz. powdered sugar
2 egg whites
1 oz. granulated sugar (colored orange with food coloring)
While strongly visualizing love, mix together the softened gum arabic and orange flower water with enough powdered sugar to form an elastic paste. Set aside. Blend together egg whites with the orange-colored sugar and the remaining powdered sugar. Make small balls of the orange mixture; cover with the egg-white mixture and set on waxed paper.
Healing Apple Crisp
2 cups apples, peeled and sliced
1 tsp. lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1/2 cup honey
1/2 to 3/4 cup graham crackers, crumbled
2 tbsp. butter, melted.
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Visualize yourself in glowing, radant health as you peel and slice the apples, squeeze the juice, and crush the graham crackers.
Turn prepared apples into a 9 x 9 baking dish. Mix the lemon juice into the honey and our over the apples. (If the apples are very tart, use slightly less lemon juice and slightly more honey.) Combine the crumbled graham crackers with the butter and sprinkle over the apples. Bake at 375 F for 30 to 40 minutes (until the apples are tender.) Serve topped with cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. serves four
Pentagram Cookies
1 cup almonds, finely ground
1 1/4 cup flour
3 tsp. almond extract
1/4 tsp. cloves, ground
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
If necessary, grind the almonds in a blender or food processor until finely reduced. Combine almonds, flour, sugar, almond extract, and ground cloves. Work in butter and egg yolks with the hands until well blended. As you work, visualize glowing golden pentagrams entering the dough.
Chill the dough for 20 to 30 minutes or until cold, yet pliable. While the dough is cooling, grease 2 cookie sheet. With a toothpick or a small knife, lightly carve a pentagram on the cookie .
Strongly visualize as you draw.
Repeat the entire process until the dough is used up. For even cooking, ensure that all cookies are approximately the same thickness.
Bake at 325 F. for about 10 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on racks.
Eat with power.
Sex Coffee
1/2 cup cold water
1 tsp decorticated (shelled) cardamom seeds
1-1/2 cup hot, freshly brewed, double-strength coffee
While touching the cardamom seeds, strongly visualize your need. Place the cold water and the cardamom seeds in a saucepan. bring to a full boil; boil for 2 minutes. Straight liquid through a coffee filter. Pour into fresh, hot coffee, and sir. This recipe serves two small portions, so share it with a friend.
Note: Recent research seems to indicate that the consumption of coffee increases out interest in sex.
Mouthwash - Add 1 ounce chamomile, sage, comfrey, lavendar, or rosemary
to 2 cups heated vinegar. Steep for 10 days. Strain.
Facial Rinse - Steep 2 cups chopped leaves or petals of appropriate
herbs (sage, yarrow, plaintain, or lemon balm as an astringent for oily
skin; chammomile, comfrey, or elderflower to soothe dry skin) in 1 pint
of white or cider vinegar for 2 weeks. Strain. Dilute (2 tablespoons in
washbasin of water), and splash onto skin.
After-shave lotion - Steep 2 cups of chopped leaves of thyme, sage,
rosemary, basil, dill, marjoram, or lavendar in 1 pint of cider vinegar
for 2 weeks. Strain. Invigorating and healing.
Underarm Deodorant - Splash underarms with thyme or sage vinegar.
Hair rinse - Add 1/4 cup aromatic vinegar, such as lavendar or rose
petal to 1 quart of warm water. Removes all traces of soap,and leaves
hair soft and lustrous.
Dandruff treatment - Steep nettles, southernwood, horsetail, or a
combination fo rosemary and mint in cider vinegar for 2 weeks.Strain.
Rub 2 tablespoons into scalp twice a week to control dandruff.
Refreshing mineral bath
6 1/2 oz epsom salts
3 1/3 oz sea salt
2 tablespoons baking soda
1 tablespoon tartaric acid
2 tablespoons cornstarch
40 drops lavender oil
20 drops clove bud oil
The instructions for the mineral bath are: Mix the dry ingredients
together. Add the oils drop by drop stirring constantly to prevent
clumping. Place in an air tight jar and shake once or twice a day
for a few days. Use 1/4 to 1/2 cup under the running water of you bath.
Agrimony and ragwort help with tired muscles
Lovage is a mild deodorant and smells good
Angelica stimulates the skin
Comfrey and rosemary help to rejuvenate the skin
Valerian and chamomile have a soporific effect and ideal for the
relaxing before going to bed
Southernwood, nettle and juniper invigorates
A pot pourri of Eucalyptus leaves, rosemary, lavender, elderflowers,
rose,geranium (or scented pelargonium)and violets makes a wonderful smelling
bath.
WITCHES' LOVE HONEY
Materials Needed:
1 cup pure, light honey
2 broken cinnamon sticks
1 tsp. whole cloves
1 dime-sized piece of sugar ginger
1 inch-long piece dried Lemon peel
1 inch-long piece vanilla bean
1 pinch ground cardamon
Empower all the herbs and the honey with your magickal intent. Pour the herbs into a jar with a
tight-fitting lid. Add the honey and shake until all herbs are moistened. Cover it tightly with the lid and
place the jar on your herbal altar between two pink candles. Light the candles and let them burn out.
Let the honey sit in a dark place for three weeks. Add small portions to food and hot beverages to
promote good feelings and love.
