| What are my rights as a parent? |
 |
| Unwed & Divorcing parents with children |
I am glad you have come to this page. I am of the opinion that children need both parents. Regarding the individual rights to each parent, they vary according to the laws of each state. I have collected many addresses to agencies in the United states that assist in this goal...bettering the lives of children by bettering the arguments for equal rights between parents.
Now, I believe that every case is alittle different in some way, but it has been my experiance that at least in my state there is little follow through on the concept of "best interest of child". How can a parent raise a child without help? There is assistance out there, (Public assistance being one of the more popular choices). I believe that in many situations public assistance is an altertative for the primary parent. Raising children can be done with the cooperation between the parents. If we can not convice the courts of this then we must at least convince ourselves. If you have a relationship that is desolving either as significant other or maritally then attempt to proceed in the best inteerst of the child as defined by heart and concionce . Alternatives are not the answer to bettering the lives of children...Parents are!
Statististics show that children with two parents involved in their lives are more likely to succeed in school. Statistics have also shown that the majority of of prison inmates were from disfunctional families that ended with the absence of one parent in their life. If cooperative parenting is impossable then please email me so that I may attempt to offer a resource within your demographic area that may offer you a chance for judicial inclusion in your children's lives.
