Instead of fossil fuels... |
|
Fossil Fuels are formed from the remains of plants and animals that lived millions of years ago. They are our main sources of energy and are important because they are not replaceable. Once we use them they are gone. With out fossil fuels we could not play tennis or even brush our teeth. We could not keep drinks cold in an ice chest or call long distance on a telephone. This is why fossil fuels are so important. Most people don't realize that we use them everyday and night. Whether we are painting our nails, taking pictures with a camera, or lying on our soft fluffy pillow, we need to remember that all of these are made with fossil fuels. We may run out someday so be grateful with what you have here and now and use them wisely. |
What would we do with out fossil fuels? Well, we need to have a back up plan and use other things like metal or wood to make products. We should try and save our fossil fuels by not using them as much. Conserving energy is important. For instance, turn off the lights when you leave your room. Walk to places that are not far away instead of driving. Adjust the thermostat in your house at night and use fans when you can. We can also cut down on our spending. Don't get a new camera every year or a new toothbrush every month. Learn to recycle your old equipment and things around the house. Also, we could use things out of the wilderness such as wood, plants or rocks and minerals. Think also about using solar energy or water energy. If you set your mind to it you won't lose it! So think about that and start saving fossil fuels one step at a time! |
