 ALL KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCILS: HERE IS A FUND RAISER FOR YOUR COUNCIL FOR WHICH YOU HAVE TO DO NOTHING MORE THAN ADVERTIZE AND ENCOURAGE YOUR MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE. A PRO-RATA SHARE OF THE PROCEEDS WILL BE RETURNED TO THE COUNCIL OF THE PARTICIPANT! Hawaii Knights of Columbus Kamiano Council 11743 invites everyone to join us in a Rome 2001 Pilgrimage in early October 2001. Father Lane Akiona, Hawaii State Council Chaplain, will be our spiritual leader and Henry Nowicki will be our pilgrimage leader. As an added feature, we will have a seven-day cruise from Rome to the Greek Isles and return. A tour of Rome will be the highlight of our fundraising efforts for the new year. Rome has been preparing for a long time for us and we don't want to disappoint them so the Hawaii contingent of Knights of Columbus will celebrate a homecoming visit in every sense of the word. The time is planned for early October to take advantage of the pleasant weather and still past the time of heavy summer crowds. We want to partake of the glories of the Italy's illustrious past and its dynamic present. Hopefully, State Chaplain Rev Lane Akiona will lead us with his sensitive and experienced approach through the mysteries of the Vatican and the seat of Roman Catholicism. Indeed, this will be a pilgrimmage of the first order for the loyal Hawaiian sons of Columbus. Maybe we will have an audience with the illustrious Il Papa, Pope John Paul II, who might give us his blessing for the new millennium. What a time to remember. We plan seven days touring Rome and its countryside. For those wanting a longer vacation, we plan to have a Mediterranean cruise to the Greek Isles for another week. CLICK HERE for details. The cost will be approximately $1799 for the land and air tour departing New York, $2099 departing Los Angeles and $2299 departing Honolulu. Starting and departure dates can be adjusted for an approximate $75 deviation fee. This includes all transportation, accommodations and a selection of sightseeing excursions. The cruise costs start at an additional $1,008 and includes all meals, accommodations, transportation, entertainment and use of the ship's many facilities. Incidentally, it is possible to only participate in the cruise portion of the pilgrimage. Time before or after the cruise may be spent in Rome or touring the region.
