Sample Heading 1

mage help Hello, Beginning Mage: Welcome to the Hitchhiker's Notes To The Self Sustaining Mage! It's not the meaning of life, the universe, and everything, but it may help aspiring mages become something more leathal to things stronger than chickens and goblins... The first thing a mage needs is a STAFF!!! Acquire, steal, or club the old man over the head to get one. Without one, you're gonna have a hard time casting spells, and you won't be raising your defense and hits very well. Get a staff, any staff - it'll work for you! Now that you have a staff, it's time to get a pick. A PICK? Well, yeah, a pick. you DO know what a pick is, right? Good, now get your lazy ass over to the Barbarian Village and get a bronze pick! DO IT! NOW! Good =^_^= Now, it's time to do the Rune Mysteries quest. When you finish that, go to Varrock and start mining essence. Get oh, about 100 of them. Yeah. That should be good. Then runecraft them. Hey, look! 100+ Air runes! Cool. Now, it's time to act like the N00b. Get a mind tali! Beg, Borrow, Steal - no matter what (just don't scam), just GET ONE! Once you have recieved one, mine about 100 more essences, and craft them into mind runes. ALTAR LOCATIONS Air: Southwset of the south exit of Falador Mind: Between the Cathedral and Goblin Village, near the wildy, but not quite. Once you have recieved the mind and air runes, bust out with your staff and start on the most elementary creatures: For Air and Water Strike spells Cow, Chicken, Man, Goblin, Spider, Rat For Earth and Fire Strike spells Darkwizard, Wizard, Highwayman, Farmer, Cow, Spear Goblin, Hobgoblin Why can't we start out on bigger and better creatures? Well, magic experience is increased by the amount of damage you dish out, along with the base experience for casting the spell. The higher the damage, the more exp you get! Whoo HAH! While you're at it, start getting the Wizard robes and hats - they up magic, and if you can, get a magic ammy - they sell on the street for 500 - 1000 coins, so that's cool. Note on Staff Combat Set your attack style to Block (Focus), so you will get Defense experience as well as magic and Hits experience. You'll need every bit of defense you can get. Newbie Mages? Wow! Your defense and magic level is sweet! Your overall combat level sucks! Cool! =^_^= With a lot combat level and a high magic and defense level, you can easily trash rangers and nonpures your level, since rangers your level wear weak leather and armor is very suseptable to magic, blasting away your foes in the wildy shouldn't be a problem. Happy PKing! Just watch out for bigger peeps wanting to nail you... The High Level Mage. Well, with your magic level at 60 and your defense just as high, it's high time you got something better than that dragonfire shield, right right? Well, let's go shopping in world 1 (or 2, if you're a member). Bring about 50,000 - 60,000 coins with ya. Look about for anyone selling a rune kite. See what you can do about getting one. It will lower your magic attack and defense a little, but at this point, you should be more concerned about getting your skull bashed in instead of your head blown off... Runecrafting What to make, what to make? Well, here's what to make! Mind: Obvious Reasons - this will be your standard ammunitoin for magic. Air: Strictly required. Just about every spell uses it, and you just need it. Body: What? BODY??? Yes, Body. Body runes are key for weakening spells that'll lower the damage and defenses of your enemies. Take them and love 'em Water: It's a pain in the buttocks to get to and make, but they're needed for curse spells. Earth: Easier to get to than water, and is also needed for curse spells. Chaos (Members): And you thought getting Body and Water was a pain, try Chaos! This will be your standard ammunition in place of mind runes. Law (Members): Get at least 100 of them for your transport needs. The Mage's Aresnal Staves: Get one of every element and carry the air and one other staff at all times. You will run out of air runes faster than anything else, and an air strike/bolt/blast/wave will be something to fall back on Robes: It's fun to go about naked, but robes boost magic attack and gives some defense. Get some... Shields: If your magic level can handle it, get a kite, or a Dragonfire shield if your magic is low. Jewelry: Get the following, if and when you can afford it. Amulet of Magic, Amulet of Power, Amulet of Glory (Members). Food: Only the best - get about 5 - 10 of whatever you can afford. A Note About Death Runes Death Runes, the cocaine of magic. Potent and expensive, they're worth every gold coin you spend on them. The problem about them is they go just as fast and the results are almost never what you wanted. Unless you're packing about 200 - 400 of them at one time, and have enough air runes (600 - 800), you should really stick to Chaos Runes. Rune Droppers "To kill a mage is to take his power" A certain mage said that, and it's partially true in Runescape. Killing magic using creaures or undead will net you some runes, but some are harder to kill with magic. No bother - if your magic is high enough, then you should be able to reduce them to ash. Here's an incomplete list of creatures (free world) that will drop runes upon dying somewhat frequently Men, Women, Darkwizards, Wizards, Warriors, Guards, Hobgoblins, Giants, Moss Giants. Well, that's about it for the Notes for the time being. I may be updating this when I see more stuffs to update it with. Happy Maging! =^_^= <==== Cat! >

crafting help So you wanna craft, eh? Well, crafting IS a decent way to make money, but where can you find the materials to make something that'll make you somewhat rich and out of that cardboard box in the slums in Varrock's southern living complex? Well, first thing's first, GET OUT OF THAT BOX! Great places to craft! Lumbridge: Cow pastures! You LOVE cows, dontchya? Good! If you have at least a bronze weapon of any kind - someone can make one for ya for free or cheap, or you can buy one from the stores - I suggest going to Port Sarim to buy a bronze battle axe and then go at it! Kill cows just for the cowhides - really. 100 should suffice for the time being, unless you wanna get more - the more the merrier. Sheep Pen: Sheep are very good for low level crafting and essential for high level crafting, as they give wool to make into balls of wool. I suggest getting as much as you can until it gets to the point in which you're about to vomit when you see another sheep - but first, you need shears! You can get those in the general store for a few gold coins, Cheap! Wool can be spun into balls of wool, which is used to make amulets. Furnace: This is where you will be crafting your jewelry and holy symbols. It's a furnace, but very far from a bank. Varrock Sheep Pen: Not as much sheep, but it's closer to a bank than the lumby one. Shear away! Clay Mines: Another excellent beginning crafting material, you can mine clay in the mines southwest of Varrock, near the Champion's Guild. Silver Mines: This is medium level crafting material. Mine as much as your heart desires, provided that you have the mining level to do it... Bank: Never underestimate the power of a bank at a close location to your gathering site... Barbarian Village Spinning Wheel: Yep! Here's a wheel in which you can spin aaaaaaaaaaaal that wool into balls of wool. What's nice about this place is the fact that you can find a bank to the north in Edgeville, too! Potter's Equipment: I also believe that you can find a means to make clay products in the Barbarian Village. Bronze Pick: There's a free bronze pick in the same house as the spinning wheel - enjoy and happy mining! Falador Spinning wheel: At the very south, there is a spinning wheel in which you can make wool balls, and it's closer to the bank than Barbarian Village's wheel. Furnace: This is where you will be crafting your jewelry and holy symbols. It's a decent distance from the bank - almost as close to a bank as Al Kharid. Al Kharid Tannery: My god, this is essential. For a mere price of a few coins, your cowhides can be made into various types of leather. Al Kharid is a MUST for any and all crafters... Really... Crafting Shop: See? I TOLD you Al Kharid was a must for all crafters - here, you can buy thread, needles, and moulds and chisels for every jewelry and holy symbol you will be crafting... Furnace: This is where you will be crafting your jewelry and holy symbols. It is exteremely close to a bank, so this is recommended over Falador's furnace Gold and Silver Mines: There are gold and silver rocks north of Al Kharid, near the northern Al Khard-Varrock exit. Nice amount of silver, but little gold. Watch out for scorpions! Crafting Guild! The crafting guild is the best place for crafters everywhere! There's coal, gold, silver, and cows for leather. Upstairs, there's a tanner for convinience. You will find moulds, chisels, and other stuff, including tools and wheels for pottery and spinning. You will need a rather high crafting level and be wearing a brown apron to enter. What sells well? Well, for free players, not much sells well, but as you progress, you'll find that the following makes decent coinage! Gemmed Rings: Members love 'em. They'll buy 'em off ya for a good price. Gemmed Amulets: Fun for frees and members! Mages buy 'em off crafters for mage exp and everybody buys enchanted ammies! Cut gems: If you can't craft anything worthy from them, then sell the cut gem - I'm sure someone that can use it will buy it off ya. Leatherwork: If you have any low level rangers that wanna buy some good ranging armor, they'll buy it off ya - well, just don't expect much for it... Nice, but I can't sell to players with this low-level crud... Well, true. So let's make a small profit from it, K? Selling the following to the general store will give you quite a bit of gold. * Leather Body * Hardleather Body * Chaps * Vampbraces * Holy Symbols Gold Vs. Silver What is better to craft? Gold or silver. Well, provided that you have gems, I would do gold, however, even a plain gold amulet does not equate to a holy symbol for experience, as a gold amulet will give 30something experience, while a holy symbol gives 50 exp. Silver is easier to mine and smith, as well, while gold requires a high level of smtithing and mining to get. I'd say, if you get gems, save 'em for the time in which you're able to mine and smelt gold, THEN use 'em for a high boost in exp. Well, hope that helps! One of these years, I may make a members guide to stuff!
Sample Heading 3

Smithing - the biggest pain to level up, and we all know it... Let's talk location, shall we? To Smelt: Nothing's better to smelt than good ol' Al Kharid. What gets me is why do they have a furnace in the hottest place in Runescape? Who cares? It's a short trot from the bank to the furnace, and that's all we should care about! To Smith: West Side of Varrock. The bank and anvils are literally in the same section of the minimap, which means SHORT DISTANCE!!! The distance between Varrock and Al Kharid is short enough to almost become neglegable... Just take the trot over and have fun! And what way to beat the heat than a foamy glass of Dwarvern Stout? Not only does it refersh you, taste strong, and beat the heat, it also raises your smithing level by 1 for a few crucial seconds - I'll get to you on how stout is good for you. Smithing while plowed IS more fun! =^_^= Really, in the beginning 20 levels, smithing is easy to do - just mine/scavenge copper and tin. Get about 200 of each and start smelting away in Al Kharid. When you're done, take a trip to Varrock and start smithing the best you can make. Sell them off in the General/Armor/Sword stores for money. Now that you're finished with the bronze, now it's time for you to start getting iron. Get about 500 iron and smelt them - you should net roughly 250 iron bars. I'm not kidding. Smith them into the best thing you can make, and sell them off into the Armor/Sword/General store - wherever you can get the best money from. Steel. Here's where it starts to get slow. This sounds insane, but get about 1,600 - 1,700 iron and 3,200 - 3,400 coal, smelted and smithed, to get to mithril... Yes, that's a lot, but if you think that's bad... Mithril! To get to addy, you will need to smelt and smith... Mithril: 8,000 Mithril Coal: 24,000 Coal. Adamantite: I don't wanna talk about it... I smith Addy short swords, if that tells you how much I've been smithing and how little of a life I have...
