THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT UFOS

IT’S NOT JUST A FRINGE BELIEF ANYMORE
The American Public: A 2000 USA Today survey revealed that 43 percent of Americans believe UFOs are real.1
U.S. Presidents:
Jimmy Carter: “I don’t laugh at people anymore when they say they’ve seen UFOs. I’ve seen one myself.”2
Gerald R. Ford (while in congress, 1966): “In the firm belief that the American public deserves a better explanation than that thus far given by the Air Force, I strongly recommend that there be a committee investigation of the UFO phenomena. I think we owe it to the people to establish credibility regarding UFOs, and to produce the greatest possible enlightenment of the subject.”
U.S. Senator: A caller on Larry King Live asked Senator Barry Goldwater, “Do you believe that the government is withholding information on UFOs?”3 Goldwater replied, “Yes I do.”
Scientist: Carl Sagan was perhaps one of the best-known scientists to have expressed a belief in the possibility of extraterrestrial intelligence.4 In 1977, he was instrumental in the launching of the Voyager spacecraft, which transports a gold-coated phonograph with recorded messages of music and sounds of Earth in the hope of communicating our existence to other beings.

PEOPLE REALLY ARE SEEING THINGS
NO HARD EVIDENCE SUGGESTS THAT THERE IS ETI
For example, from 1947 to 1969, the United States Air Force officially studied UFOs under the name “Project Blue Book.” The project, headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, was terminated on 17 December 1969. Of the 12,618 sightings reported, 11,917 (94 percent) were solved. The conclusions of the study were:
(1) no UFO reported, investigated, and evaluated by the Air Force was ever a threat to our national security; (2) there was no evidence submitted to, or discovered by, the USAF that sightings categorized as “unidentified” represented technological developments or principles beyond the range of modern scientific knowledge; and (3) there was no evidence indicating that sightings categorized as “unidentified” were extraterrestrial vehicles. (emphasis added)5

Most UFOlogists refer to Roswell as the undisputed site of a UFO crash landing covered up by the government. No doubt, something did crash in Roswell, New Mexico, in the summer of 1947. Although there was a crash and a military cover-up, this does not prove extraterrestrial involvement. Today, we know that the “crash” was actually the debris of a downed balloon for a top-secret military project referred to as “Project Mogul” from nearby White Sands, New Mexico. It was a pre-U-2 attempt to spy on Soviet Russia to ascertain their nuclear capabilities.6 This prompted the initial controversy and suspicion since the Air Force couldn’t reveal the details of the incident at the time and consequently reported that it was just the debris of a “weather balloon,” and nothing more.
BIBLICAL REVELATION LENDS NO SUPPORT TO ETI
PROOF OF ETI WOULD NOT UNDERMINE CHRISTIANITY
THE UFO PHENOMENON TENDS TO HAVE OCCULT QUALITIES
Evil Encounters. Speaking generally, UFO abduction encounters are not pleasant and wholesome experiences. For the most part, they are nightmarish events that often plague victims for years, if not for the rest of their lives. These abduction encounters are obviously not the work of benign and benevolent “space brothers.”
False Prophets. The aliens consistently proclaim a different gospel. The religion of these beings is typically a version of Eastern mysticism or New Age philosophy, which is, in actuality, very old — so old, that it goes back to the Garden of Eden with the temptation to “be like God” (Gen. 3:5). Paul warned the church in Galatia to beware of false teachings regardless of how impressive the source might be. “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!” (Gal. 1: 8).

There have been numerous reports of contact with aliens, and yet none thus far has acknowledged Jesus Christ as the Son of God. (If you know of any, please write and let me know about it.) They almost always sanction various Eastern and New Age groups instead as their official spokespersons. A significant percentage of all alleged contactees have admitted to being involved in some form of occult beliefs or practices.7 It is therefore reasonable to presume that in some cases a spiritual dimension is within the UFO phenomenon, and it is obviously outside the presence, activity, and authority of the Holy Spirit.

THE UFO PHENOMENON IS INDICATIVE OF A SPIRITUAL QUEST
The popularity of spiritual topics, in my opinion, is a reflection of a society that is hungry for meaning and purpose in life, which they mistakenly believe will be fulfilled via contact with extraterrestrial civilizations or proof that life exists outside of planet earth. In effect, for some, the search and hope for ETI amounts to a quest for an extraterrestrial savior.

In Megatrends 2000, John Naisbett accurately forecasted that the late nineties and early twenty-first century would experience an increased and renewed interest in spirituality, but that people would not necessarily seek out the mainline Christian denominations to have those needs met.8 He was right. Spirituality is big business. The typical secular bookstore has entire sections devoted to UFOs, Wicca, Eastern thought, and, yes, even Christianity. An article in the New York Times Magazine described this surge of interest as a “revival”;9 although the “revival” is not within Christianity per se, the church should recognize its unique position in being the only candidate capable of truly meeting this need. The church should, therefore, equip its members to translate the Gospel into a vernacular that the spiritually curious can understand.

2. Buck Wolf, “Carter’s Close Encounters,” ABCNews.com, http://abcnews.go.com/sections/us/ dailynews/ufo990122.html. In 1969, Jimmy Carter and several others claimed to have witnessed a UFO outside a Lion’s Club, which appears to have most likely been the planet Venus. I realize this sounds a bit ludicrous at first, but as an amateur astronomer I can attest to the unique brightness of Venus at various times of the year, which has made it the source of numerous UFO reports over the years.
3. Larry King Live, 13 October 1988.
4. ET is an abbreviation for extraterrestrial, which implies nonearthly biological life but not necessarily intelligent life. ETI, on the other hand, is an abbreviation for extraterrestrial intelligence, which is a reference to life forms capable of making intelligent decisions.

Comparing UFO beliefs with New World Order beliefs

NWO: Abolish all established Government
UFO: Abolish democracy in favor of dictatorship

NWO: All religion must be abolished.
UFO: All religion must be abolished.

NWO: Establish One-World Government;
UFO: Establish a single world government, a Utopian Benevolent Dictatorship.

NWO: All world's religions are equal and will one day be combined into one.
UFO: All world's religions are equal.

Before going into what I believe let's look at the following quotes from a wide variety of books and articles:

Oh, before we continue, let me introduce you to at least four individuals who I will be quoting quite a few times. (This is to show you, that the quotes are not one sided... non-pro-UFOlogist.)

1. John A. Keel, is probably one of the most well-informed of all the UFO researchers.
2. Brad Steiger is the author of 140 books, both fiction and nonfiction, with over 17 million copies in print. He's received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the National UFO and Unexplained Phenomena Conference 1996.
3. A leading UFO researcher, Jacques Vallee has written close to a dozen books on UFOs, several of them best-sellers, analyzing a notoriously ethereal subject as a hard-headed physical scientist, folklorist, and sociologist. He believes there is more than enough solid evidence to make a compelling case for the existence of UFOs, and he doesn't shy away from an honest debate.
4. Dr. J. Allen Hynek started The Center for UFO Studies.
(These are chief people in the UFO circles.)

“The statistical data which I have extracted, and which I have tried to summarize briefly here, indicate that flying saucers are not stable machines requiring fuel, maintenance, and logistical support. They are, in all probability, transmogrifications of energy and do not exist in the same way that this book exists. They are not permanent constructions of matter.”
- John Keel, UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse, p. 182

“Many UFO reports, he said, seem to pertain more to accounts of 'poltergeists' (cases where objects fly around the room and strange sounds are heard) and other types of 'psychic' manifestations than to 'actual solid items of nuts and bolts hardware.' 'That is one of the reasons,' added Dr. Hynek, 'why I cannot accept the obvious explanation of UFOs as visitors from outer space.'”
- J. Allen Hynek interview, The Unexplained Column, by Allen Spraggett, November 8, 1975

“In March 1950, Navy Commander R. Mclaughlin published an article in True Magazine describing how scientists had tracked a silvery saucer-like object travelling at an overhead speed of 25,200 miles per hour near the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. This was a startling report because no physical object could travel at such speeds without burning up in the atmosphere.”
- Chuck Missler, Alien Encounters: The Secret Behind the UFO Phenomenon, p.62

“On December 17, 1996, scientists from the Atmospheric Sciences Department at Creighton University in Nebraska released video footage of a mysterious spherical object travelling at one-hundredth the speed of light (1,860 miles per second)... The object can clearly be seen crossing upward and left across the field of view...
The objects fantastic flight pattern led Morris B. Pongratz, a scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, to state that 'it is clearly something that does not have mass, the angular speed is too fast to be anything at orbital velocity.'”
- Alien Encounters, pp. 68, 69

“A number of revelators and UFO contactees have since mentioned to me that just before the appearance of an entity they were aware of a strange buzzing sound. Witnesses of unexplained aerial phenomenon have also referred to a buzzing or rushing sound shortly before the 'flying saucer' appeared over them. I am also reminded that great deal of poltergeist activity produces a preparatory 'signal' of a buzzing, rasping, or winding noise.”
- Brad Steiger, Revelation: The Divine Fire, p. 148

“Studies of flying saucer cults repeatedly show that they are part of a larger occult social world.”
- Stupple & McNeece, 1979 MUFON UFO Symposium Proceedings

“A working knowledge of occult sciences...is indispensible to UFO investigation.”
- Trevor James, Flying Saucer Review Vol. 8, No. 1

“The 'medical examination' to which abductees are said to be subjected, often accompanied by sadistic sexual manipulation, is reminiscent of the medieval tales of encounters with demons. It makes no sense in a sophisticated or technical framework: any intelligent being equipped with the scientific marvels that UFOs possess would be in a position to achieve any of these alleged scientific objectives in a shorter time and with fewer risks.”
- Dr. Jacques Vallee, Confrontations, p. 13

“The number of contactees has risen dramatically in the last few years along with the increase in New Age and occult practices. We are seeing a parallel rise in both New Age and UFO phenomena. A New Ager who practices trance channeling says,
Very often UFO contactees are, by their own admission, individuals who have become disillusioned with the existing religious institutions. (In the western world probably Judaism or Christianity.)”
- David Allan Lewis & Robert Shreckhise, UFO End-time Delusion, p. 110: quoting Brad Steiger

“The New Age, Eastern mystics, and UFO advocates preach an impersonal life force. Man is his own god. There is no need for a redeemer, for there is no sin. One may use meditative techniques to descend into the lower depths of consciousness and there discover the divine within.”
- David Allen Lewis, UFO End-Time Delusion, p. 62

“Drawing from what we know can happen in seances and poltergeist activity, it seems that these supernatural forces can manipulate matter and energy, extracting energy from the atmosphere, for example (which manifests as a local temperature change), to manipulate matter and produce an apparent violation of the second law {of thermodynamics}, and I guess my feeling is that on a larger scale this is what a UFO could be. I'm not saying that I know what it is, but only that it could be. It seems to me likely that UFOs are large-scale violations of the second law in which energy is arranged to take on enough of a force field appearance so that it appears to look like matter, yet it's really just energy concentration – it's not really matter in the usual sense.
... Demons, as fallen angels, apparently retain great powers, such as the manipulation and restructuring of matter, as well as the ability to influence or control human consciousness and experience through classic possession by direct psychic implantation of a set of experiences.”
- Dr. Curt Wagner Ph.D., SCP Journal, August 1977, Vol.1 No.2, UFOs – Is Science Fiction Coming True? pp. 19, 20

“...these intelligences have the ability to influence the human mind telepathically in order to project what appear to be three dimensional images to the witnesses of UFO activity.”
- Brad Steiger, The Fellowship, p. 49

“If UFOs are, indeed, somebody else's 'nuts and bolts hardware' then we must still explain how such tangible hardware can change shape before our eyes, vanish in a cheshire cat manner (not leaving a grin), seemingly melt away in front of us, or apparently 'materialize' mysteriously before us without apparent detection by persons nearby or in neighboring towns. We must wonder, too, where UFOs are 'hiding' when not manifesting themselves to human eyes.”
- J. Allen Hynek and Jacques Vallee, The Edge on Reality, pp. xii-xiii

“...the phenomenon has the ability to create a distortion of the sense of reality or to substitute artificial sensations for the real ones.”
- Jacques Vallee interview, Vallee Discusses UFO Control System, Fate Magazine, p. 63

“The 'gods' and UFOs may visit us more often than we suspect. For they exist only a frequency-difference away in the background of our consciousness, waiting for some triggering condition to bring them in focus. That triggering condition necessarily has something to do with the psychological state of the 'observer' – which is precisely why the 'gods' seem to be selective in their choice of contact, and why subjective elements invariably condition mystic and 'saucer' experiences.”
- Gods of Aquarius: UFOs and the Transformation of Man, p. 35. Brad Steiger quotes Peter Kor in his article, "Myth, Reality and Flying Saucers" (Flying Saucers, October, 1967)

“... a New Age consciousness will suffuse the planet. It is to this end that the gods have been utilizing the UFO as a transformative symbol.
...In several instances, the UFO seems almost to have been mandala-like, (which is often used for purposes of meditation) has precipitated in the percipient a state similar to that of trance.”
- Brad Steiger, Gods of Aquarius: UFOs and the Transformation of Man, p. 40

“The endless messages from the space people would now fill a library, and while the communicators claim to represent some other world, the contents of those messages are identical to the messages long received by mediums and mystics.”
- John Keel, UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse, p. 183

“Certain saucer cultists, who have been expecting space brethren to bring along some pie in the sky, continue to deliver saucer-inspired sermons on the theme that the saucers come to bring starry salvation to a troubled world. The self-appointed ministers who preach this extraordinary brand of evangelism ignore the fact that not ALL "saucers" can be considered friendly. Many give evidence of hostile actions. There is a wealth of well-documented evidence that UFO's have been responsible for murders, assaults, burning by direct-ray focus, radiation sickness, kidnappings, pursuits of automobiles, attacks on homes, disruption of power sources, paralysis, mysterious cremations, and destructions of aircraft. Dozens of reputable eye-witnesses claim to have seen alien personnel loading their space vehicles with specimens from earth, including animals, soil and rocks, water and struggling human beings.”
- Brad Steiger, Flying Saucers are Hostile (p.? quoted by Branton)

“The MIBs often pose as government agents. They are described as wearing black hats, black trench coats, and dark glasses. They demand that the contactee give up any physical evidence that was left behind by the UFO. They threaten the contactee with dire consequences if he dares to reveal what he knows. Inevitably, the contactee gets the idea that these are not normal people. Usually the disguise is less than perfect: the eyes can be seen as alien eyes; the hands are not like human hands; or there is just 'something about them' that makes the contactee realize that they were 'aliens'. In some cases the MIB steal or coverup the evidence of the UFO landing and ETI contact. Sometimes they cause havoc in the life of the contactee.
What possible purpose would this serve? First, this makes the UFO experience more credible. ...This serves to convince him that 'aliens' really have visited him, not only initially, but on later encounters.
Secondly, this is a diversionary tactic... He is terrified into silence. Only after further contact and 'enlightenment' is he allowed to talk freely about his experience. This smoke-screen serves the demonic powers behind the experience ... This kind of experience is not unique to UFO encounters. This has been known among occult devotees for centuries. Brad Steiger writes of the parallel between the MIB and the occult experience:
The Brothers of the Shadow, like the MIB are known for threatening students of the occult whenever they get too close to lifting the Veil of Isis. As Madame Blavatsky says when referring to the Brothers of the Shadow, they are the 'leading stars' on the great spiritual stage of 'materialization'.
...The MIB and the Brothers of the Shadow can be viewed as the same demonic beings. Confusion and terror is useful to the enemy in controlling and conditioning anyone being overtaking. Brad Steiger writes of one victim of the MIB experience: 'At times she seemed almost to be possessed.' This is the purpose of the MIB: to bring a person into subjection and control. By using the initial hallucinatory experience of UFO contact and subsequently the MIB threat, the contactee is subjected to a mind-control, brainwashing technique designed to break down his will and resistance to eventual possession.”
- UFO End-Time Delusion, pp. 136, 137, 138

“Demonology is not just another crackpot-ology. It is the ancient and scholarly study of the monsters and demons who have seemingly coexisted with man throughout history. Thousands of books have been written on the subject, many of them authored by educated clergymen, scientists and scholars, and uncounted numbers of well-documented demonic events are readily available to every researcher. The manifestations and occurences described in this imposing literature are similar, if not entirely identical, to the UFO phenomenon itself. Victims of demonomania (possession) suffer the very same medical and emotional symptoms as the UFO contactees.
... The devil and his demons can, according to the literature, manifest themselves in almost any form and can physically imitate anything from angels to horrifying monsters with glowing eyes. Strange objects and entities materialize and dematerialize in these stories, just as the UFOs and their splendid occupants appear and disappear, walk through walls, and perform other supernatural feats.”
- John Keel, UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse, p. 192

“Thousands of mediums, psychics and UFO contactees have been receiving mountains of messages from 'Ashtar' in recent years. Mr. Ashtar represents himself as a leader in the great intergalactic councils which hold regular meetings on Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, and many planets unknown to us. But Ashtar is not a new arrival. Variations of this name, such as Ashtaroth, Ashar, Asharoth, etc., appear in demonological literature throughout history, both in the Orient and the Occident. Mr. Ashtar has been around a very long time, posing as assorted gods and demons and now, in the modern phase, as another glorious spaceman.”
- John Keel, UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse, p. 230

[Note: Ashtar-oth was the legendary 'consort' to BAAL, the ancient Chaldean 'god' to whom the ancients offered up human sacrifices]
“If we can no longer believe in heavenly hierarchies, extraterrestrial hierarchies will suffice.”
- Brad Steiger, Gods of Aquarius, p. 26

“Satan was also called 'The Prince of The Powers of the Air [Ephesians 2:2],' and was regarded as the ruler over a wide range of kingdoms above and below the earth, all of which had vehicles for traversing the underworld, the land, the sea, and particularly the firmament. In Zechariah, Chapter 5, we find the prophet speaking with an angel of the Lord:
Again, I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and beheld a flying scroll (cylindrical or 'cigar shaped' UFO?). And then he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying scroll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits. Then he said unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth...
- William M. Mott, An Excerpt from Caverns, Cauldrons and Concealed Creatures

Daniel 11 describes the Antichrist:
“He shall not regard the God of his fathers, YHWH, nor the desire of woman nor love any god, for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his place he shall honor the god of fortresses, (the Hebrew phrase is, Ala Mohozine), and he shall honor a god whom his fathers (the Jews), did not know (literally, AN ALIEN GOD).”
Baalhazor, "Lord of the fortresses", provides a connection between Baal and the God of the Antichrist. Baal was lord of war and of the sky. Many titles were given to BAAL by adding endings to his name.
Some examples with the Baal derivative:
Baalbamoth
Lord of the high places.
Baalzebub
Lord over all that flies. God of Ekron (2Ki 1:2 - 1:16). God of the Philistines, ruled over the city of Ekron. The Goetic Demon "BAEL". Enlil, Bel, Baal Zebul and Beelzebuth.
Beelzebub
Identified as Satan by Jesus himself, Matt. 10:25, Mark 3:22, Luke 11:15.
“The Antichrist will honor Satan, called Baal, Lord of the Fortresses, Lord of the High Places, Lord of those who fly (in high places) Prince of the Powers of the Air, and obviously Prince of the Powers behind flying craft in high places... UFOs.”
- The Angelic Conspiracy
“Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson, Gurdjieff's major prose work, concerns interstellar Higher Intelligences who seek to aid and advance evolution on Earth.”
- Robert Anton Wilson, Cosmic Trigger: The Final Secret of The Illuminati, p. 146

In the seventeenth century manuscript called De Daemonialitate, et Incubis, et Succubis by Fr. Sinistrari we read:
To theologians and philosophers, it is a fact, that from the copulation of humans (man or woman) with the demon, human beings are sometimes bom. It is by this process that Antichrist must be born, according to a number of doctors:* Bellarmin, Suarez, Malu-enda, etc. Besides, they observe that as the result of a quite natural cause, the children generated in this manner by the incubi are tall, very strong, very daring, very magnificent and very wicked. . . . Maluenda confirms what has been said above, proving by the testimony of various classical authors that it is to such unions that the following owe their birth:
· Romulus and Remus, according to Livy and Plutarch.
· Servius-Tullius, sixth king of the Romans, according to Denys of Halicarnassus and Pliny.
· Plato the philosopher, according to Diogenes Laertius and St. Jerome.
· Alexander the Great, according to Plutarch and Quinte-Curce.
· Seleucus, king of Syria, according to Justin and Applian.
· Scipio the African, according to Livy.
· The Emperor Caesar Augustus, according to Suetonius.
· Aristomenes of Messenia, the illustrious Greek general, according to Strabo and Pausanias.
· Let us add the English Merlin or Melchin, born of an incubus and a nun, the daughter of Charlemagne. And finally, as writes Cocleus, quoted by Maluenda, that damned heresiarch whose name is Martin Luther.
* Le Brim's comment throws more light: "If the body of these children is thus different from the bodies of other children, their soul will certainly have qualities that will not be common to others: that is why Cardinal Bellarmin thinks Antichrist will be bom of a woman having had intercourse with an incubus."
- Quoted by Jacques Vallee in Passport to Magonia: On UFOs, Folklore, and Parallel Worlds, p. 127

“A New Age devotee just hasn't 'arrived' unless he has had contact with a 'spirit guide,' an 'ascended master,' a 'channeled entity,' or a 'space brother-ETI.' Contact is sought through meditation techniques, invocation, luciferic initiation, or by the laying-on-of-hands by a guru, channeler, or other New Age expert.”
- David Allen Lewis, UFO End-Time Delusion, p. 153

The inspiration for the book came after a visitation from a spiritual being that materialized before me on two consecutive nights. Although I crumpled into unconsciousness at the outset of each encounter and consciously remembered hearing only an initial word or two from the entity, I awakened on the dawn after the second visit with the ideas for The Divine Fire bubbling in my brain.”
- Brad Steiger, Revelation: The Divine Fire, p.vii

“In 1968, December 20, at 10:30 p.m., to be exact, I made 'contact' with a UFO. I had learned to generate slightly more psychic energy than was normal for me, and I could raise it to the fourth, or heart, chakra quite easily. ...at that time I had no knowledge of Kundalini and very little of psychic matters, either. On this particular occasion, though, I decided to try an experiment and use the energy to carry a signal or message into space. I wanted to communicate with a UFO.
Within minutes the contact was made...a luminous green, slightly pulsating, amorphous vehicle,...we were soon in 'telepathic contact,' and I was given instructions to report what I was learning to a certain person employed by NASA in Alabama.”
- Brad Steiger, Gods of Aquarius: UFOs and The Transformation of Man, pp. 212, 213

“It is interesting that a paradigm shift takes place in the abductee. This is the same world-view shift that many New Agers advocate. After contact the abductee usually is convinced of the reality of UFOs and ETIs. In addition, some contactees become convinced that they are chosen to preach the 'aliens' New Age gospel to others.”
- David Allen Lewis, UFO End-Time Delusion, pp. 147-148

“[The occultist] is brought into intelligent communication with the spirits of the air, and can receive any knowledge which they possess, or any false impression they choose to impart...the demons seem permitted to do various wonders at their request.”
- G.H. Pember, Earth's Earliest Ages and Their Connection with Modern Spiritualism and Theosophy (1876)

“The idea of UFOs is becoming a very prevalent phenomenon in people's consciousness. People believe in them. What does this mean? It means that people have a place to look to other than our government! People have a place to look for guidance and authority that is much more enlightened...”
- Brad Steiger quoting a pagan witch in Gods of Aquarius, p. 71

“There is another system. It is sending us messengers of deception. They are not necessarily coming from nearby stars. In terms of the effect on us, it doesn't matter where they come from. I even suspect that 'where' and 'when' have no meaning here. How could we be alone? The black box of science has stopped ticking. People look upward to the stars in eager expectation.
Receiving a visit from outer space sounds almost as comfortable as having a God. Yet we shouldn't rejoice too soon. Perhaps we will get the visitors we deserve.”
- Jacques Vallee, Messengers of Deception, p. 246

[Concerning a prophecy of a holocaust on December 24, 1967]
“Meanwhile, mediums, telepaths, sensitives, and UFO contactees throughout the world were all reporting identical messages. There was definitely going to be an unprecedented event on December 24, 1967. Ashtar was talking through Ouija boards to people who had never before heard the name. Another busy entity named Orion was spreading the word. The curious thing about these messages was that they were all phrased in the same manner, no matter what language was being used. They all carried the same warning.
...Many predictions of the December twenty-fourth disaster had been documented well in advance of that date. These messages came through in many different countries, from people who had no knowledge of or communication with one another. The UFO contactees received the same identical messages as the trance mediums communing with spirits. A link had been established. It was now clear (to me at least) that all of these people were tuned into a central source. My earlier speculations seemed true – the UFO entities were part of the same gigantic system. ...Some of the entities were evil liars.”

“The average citizen does not realize that a techno-occultic bill of goods is being sold to the public by some scientists, politicians, and entertainment personalities. The man on the street is gazing at the stars because he is being told by so many 'authorities' that not only is man evolving, but that there are other evolving civilizations more advanced than ours, and that some day we will be friends and partners with these aliens in a grand adventure in an upward process of evolution leading to godhood!”
- David Allen Lewis, UFO End-Time Delusion, p. 116

“Man... must perceive a reality of crystalline purity – his own soul, his own Godself...the Godhood and the Christed Consciousness within...
So, my brothers, my sisters, a time we have long spoken of as a manifestation, not a promise, but a manifestation of the God within... we who observe from the craft and from the upper levels have long waited for this time that we may descend in vast numbers to the surface of the planet Earth, that we may walk once more with our brothers...”
- Raymere a Space Being, channeled through Aleuti Francesca on September 11, 1975. Gods of Aquarius, p. 112

“The fact that these 'avatars,' 'aliens,' and 'walk-ins' are all the same entities is also revealed in a discussion that Montgomery had with her 'guides':
I asked about the different means used by space beings to enter our culture, and the Guides said that some are being born into human bodies for the first time, some have lived here upon occasion before, some are arriving as Walk-ins, and others are temporarily exchanging bodies with Earthlings 'with or without permission.'”

“If the Space Beings want to contact you, they will do so. They do the choosing.”

“Constable warns us that the Ahrimanic (fallen angels of Persian and Chaldean tradition) emissaries appear everywhere 'unrecognized and often aided by humans who don't know that the devil is alive and well – and coming to Earth within the lifetime of millions now living.'
...It is Constable's contention that humans are constantly being seduced into doing the work of the nether forces, because they simply do not know that such forces exist, let alone how they work into and upon Earth itself.
If man can be shown where the battlefield is, the nature of the terrain, and the ways in which he is already being assaulted in this inner war, then the right tactics and strategy can be brought to bear against the inimical forces.
..The objective of the Ahrimanic powers is to pull down all humanity.
Man will win or lose battle for Earth itself, for he is at once the goal of the battle and the battleground... The stakes in this battle are not the territory, commercial advantages, or political leverage of ordinary wars, but the mind and destiny of man.”
- Trevor James Constable quoted in Brad Steiger's The UFO Abductors, pp. 212, 213, 314

“It is interesting that they twist or deny many important biblical truths. Why would supposedly evolved intelligences from other worlds be so concerned about a local, unique religious manifestation? They should not be threatened by something we would eventually 'outgrow' as a race. The obvious answer is that the Bible makes their attempt to deceive us obvious. It thwarts their plans for mass brainwashing and takeover. They must deny the truth of the Bible.”
-David Allen Lewis, UFO End-Time Delusion, p. 123

In my Aquarian revelations I presented a distillation of the Outer Space Apocrypha that would seem to contain the basic ideas presented to the world by all those whom the Space Brothers selected to preach the Cosmic Gospel:
· Man is not alone in the Solar System. He has "Space Brothers" and they have come to Earth to reach him and teach him.
· The Space Brothers have advanced information that they wish to impart to their weaker brethren. The Space Brothers want man to join an intergalactic spiritual federation.
· The Space Brothers are here to teach, to help awaken man's spirit, to help man to rise to higher levels of vibration so that he may be ready to enter new dimensions...
· Man stands now in the transitional period before the dawn of a New Age. With peace, love, understanding, and brotherhood on man's part, he will see a great new era begin to dawn.
· If man should not raise his vibratory rate within a set period of time, severe Earth changes and major cataclysms will take place. Such disasters will not end the world, but shall serve as cataclysmic crucibles to burn off the dross of unreceptive humanity. [note: Christians would definitely fit into this category – and monotheistic religions in general] Those who die in such dreadful purgings will be allowed to reincarnate on higher levels of developments so that their salvation will be more readily accomplished.

Speaking of the Daimons, Porphyry a disciple of Plotinus says:
“Daimons are invisible; but they know how to clothe themselves with forms and configurations subjected to numerous variations, ... One day they will employ brute force; another, cunning.
It is child's play for them to arouse in us vile passions, to impart to societies and nations turbulent doctrines, provoking wars, seditions, and other calamities, and then tell you 'that all of these are the work of the gods.' ...These spirits pass their time in cheating and deceiving mortals, creating around them illusions and prodigies; their greatest ambition is to pass as gods and souls.”

“As a result of my own investigations and the research of others, I can no longer doubt that such 'contacts' are taking place on a global scale. I must, however, challenge the veracity of the UFO occupants, especially in regard to their place of origin; namely, outer space. It seems to me that, since our earliest antiquity, the UFO entities have been lying to us about their identity and their true fatherland.”

UFO’s and the Bible

The intent of this section is to briefly highlight a number of passages that have application (at least potentially) to some portions of the UFO movement. While in no way condemning the honest, scientific labors of many ufologists, there is a side to this phenomenon which simply must be addressed by the Christian community. To that end, what follows are some basic biblical criteria for interpreting and responding to segments of the UFO craze.

John 20:30-31
30 Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.

As John concludes his Gospel, he writes concerning the purpose of his writing. His goal is to show forth the identity of Jesus, and so lead people to embrace Him (v. 30). This He accomplishes by recording for us "signs" which Jesus performed.
A sign (Gr. semeion) is a token or indicator of something. For John, the "signs" he has in mind are the miracles which Jesus performed throughout His ministry. We know Jesus is who He claimed to be because, among other things, He performed supernatural wonders or signs. Jesus thus signaled by His amazing deeds that He truly is God's Messiah and unique Son, and thus worthy of all honor and trust.

This concept is important for our discussion of UFOs, for some have claimed that Jesus' miracles were merely technological and not supernatural. But this is contrary to the biblical record and the claims of Jesus. There is no indication that Jesus' miracles are intended merely to impress. The purpose of these marvelous deeds is to lead the reader to acknowledge the uniqueness of His person and role. In other words, Jesus doesn't imply some vague sort of superiority. He claims, rather, to be the divine Messiah. This, once again, leaves us in a dilemma of sorts. Since Jesus is neither a misguided individual, nor a deceiver, we can't properly see Him as a kindly space-creature or some such thing. That was never His intention. His signs must be accepted along with all that He spoke and did. Much more than technological marvels, Jesus' miracles demonstrate the truthfulness of His claims to messiahship and deity.

1 Corinthians 2:1-2
1 And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

Here we learn there are priorities to Christian life and ministry. And at the heart of what believers must maintain is "Christ crucified." The apostle says, in fact, that he desires to know nothing else! He doesn't mean, of course, that no other subject is worth considering. What does matter, though, is that Christ is the goal and centerpiece of Christianity. All truth is either a pointer to Christ, or a means of highlighting His many virtues.

When it comes to apologetics, therefore, we must strive to have a Christocentric, gospel-oriented focus. Christ is Lord. The Son is our hope. Jesus is the only worthy object of worship. As we explore the meaning of UFOs and aliens, let us not stray from the One who is the motive and goal of all truly Christian pursuits, the Lord Jesus Himself.

Galatians 1:6-12
6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; 7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed! 10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? . . . 11 For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

Paul was an apostle, having been directly commissioned by the risen Jesus. Yet even he had to acknowledge the higher priority and authority of the divinely authorized message. In fact the exclusivity of the gospel demanded that all competing ideas be rejected. So it is here. Christian truth must be upheld at all costs; half-true pretenders must be discarded.

The instruction Paul gives may seem somewhat harsh to modern ears. To curse someone, after all, sounds a bit harsh. Yet the ramifications of the Christian gospel must not be ignored. If Christ really is God's Son and if He alone can supply redemption for fallen men, then all spurious gospels must be viewed as harmful. "If, then, anyone proclaims something different, he comes under the judicial wrath of God!" As Paul says, "let him be accursed."

All of this is very pertinent to the discussion of UFO claims. If the UFO occupants (or believers in them) promote that which contradicts God's Word, they must be dealt with sternly. However we explain the phenomenon, at least one thing is clear: Unbiblical messages mustn't go unchallenged (Jude 3-4).

Thessalonians 2:1-12
1 Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, 2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy come first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. . . . 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8 Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; 9 that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, 10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. 11 For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, 12 in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.

In context, Paul is dealing with events that are precursors to "the Day of the Lord."[1] That "day," Paul writes, cannot arrive until a number of historical incidents take place. Among these are an end time apostasy and the revealing of the man of lawlessness. While neither has occurred yet, "the mystery of lawlessness is already at work" (v. 7); that is, a Satanic scheme is already in place. At the same time, Paul surely wants his readers to be aware of these eschatological realities. After all, the world—even now under the sway of dark forces—will one day experience the full unleashing of Antichrist's power.
Concerning the subject of UFOs, it is surely helpful to consider these strange happenings in light of this description of the man of lawlessness. Notice his amazing deceptiveness.[2] He is able to cause people to believe a lie, leading them to ultimate judgment. And he can perform, by the hand of Satan himself, powerful signs and false wonders.[3] Of course, no one can be sure what these wonders entail. Neither are we in a position where we can place all UFOs with certainty in the category of Antichrist. What can be said, though, is that certain incredible miracles will occur at the end of the age. These will be so alluring that many will be misled.

Much of what surrounds the UFO phenomenon is condemned by Scripture. Furthermore, some of the events connected to these unbiblical segments of ufology are at least amazing, if not miraculous. While proving nothing outright, these parallels serve to warn believers that they should approach this phenomenon with discernment. Thankfully, the wisdom required is amply supplied in the apostolic traditions, in which Christ's followers are exhorted to "stand firm" (2 Thessalonians 2:15).

1 John 4:1-4
1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. 4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

John tells us to "test the spirits" (v. 1). This implies at least the following: (1) False ideas permeate this world, (2) Personal spirit beings are responsible for doctrine. (3) These "spirits" are to be tested, (4) Some criteria exists by which we can perform such testing, (5) Christians are responsible and equipped for identifying and opposing false ideas and embracing good ones.

In context John identifies and contrasts two opposing "spirits"—one of error, the other of truth (v. 6). The determining factor as to which category a given teaching belongs is this: How do these spirits, as they promulgate their doctrine, relate to Jesus Christ? The apostolic position is that Jesus came in the flesh. That is, the Son of God actually became a man for man. He was "revealed in the flesh" (1 Timothy 3:16). Anyone, John says, who doesn't confess this Jesus "is not from God" (v. 3). "Since it is the great work of the Holy Spirit to testify about Christ and exalt Him (John 16:13-14), the person of the Lord Jesus becomes the touchstone of truth or error."[4] Those who deny the incarnational realities surrounding Jesus align themselves with the spirit of Antichrist. Still, false prophets cannot ultimately destroy God's "overcoming" children, for "greater is He who is in [them] than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

Though the spirit of Antichrist is already in the world (v. 3), one day it will manifest itself in fuller ways. Thus Christians must examine the ideas and teachings they encounter. Regarding the subject of UFOs, it is certainly right to make reasonable judgments (John 7:24;[5] 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22). No conscientious Christian should undervalue this responsibility. Indeed, no ufologist should fear the results of such testing. According to John, the discerning individual is one who "test[s] the spirits to see whether they are from God."

Summary
These are but a sampling of the many passages applicable to a study of the UFO phenomenon. A serious look at these and related texts will help undergird believers with the biblical foundation for confronting the "aliens" among us.

There is no reason for panic or unreasonable responses to UFOs. The need, instead, is for level-headedness, honesty, and a serious commitment to what God has spoken in Scripture. Conscientious believers inspect all of life through the lens of God's perfect Word.
