NHL stands for The National (ice) Hockey League of North America. It is a league which has 2 conferences, the eastern and the western conferences. They are split up into 3 smaller leagues, a northern, central and southern in each. Each small league have about 5 or 6 teams in them. The east and the west conrerences join together to make a big table.

The top four teams in each conference go into the play-offs to compete for the Lord Stanley Cop
