If you are seriously interested, please email a resume, a 500 word essay stating why you want to learn the art of supporting women through pregnancy and childbirth, and 3 references to mitchellmw@yahoo.com. Please direct any questions to this address as well. What type of skills are necessary to apprentice? Spirited Women is looking for someone who believes in holistic health and treating the whole person. This person must be woman-centered and be someone who is willing to learn. The right candidate must be willing to become certified in CPR and NRP. Also, the apprentice must be willing to commit to being on call when clients are due. Any questions should be directed to mitchellmw@yahoo.com The right candidate will meed the following requirements: 1)Any apprentice will have a 3 month probation period. 2)They must attend all prenatal and postpartum wisits and all birth in this 3 month period 3)Any candidate will be enrolled in a midwifery program, whether full or part time 4)The apprentice will be certified in NRP and CPR at their own expense 5)No need for equipment expect provide your own clean gloves (not sterile gloves) 6)Must have attended a doula or beginning midwifery course 7)Must have attended at least 10 births (including their own) 8)Spirited Women does not pay their aprentices. 9)The apprentice must have a pager or cell phone at their own expense 10)After the 3 month probation period SW expects a 1 year commitment These requirements are open to changes and discussion.
