- I strongly believe that both Darwin's Theory of Evolution and the Intelligent Design Theory should be taught in public schools in the United States. There is no harm in teaching these theories primarily because that is what they are; theories. There is no definite answer to this discussion. Secondly, students should know what is going on around them and the different views of certain subjects. One guideline that should be followed is that this subject should not be taught in a science course, where you might think. This subject should be added into the history curriculum for the main reason that intelligent design has nothing to do with science and would be misplaced. People may argue that this subject is religion based, and yes it is. However, there is no single religion that is said to believe the Intelligent Design theory. One danger in teaching this matter in schools is that there would have to be no favoring of one theory over the other in the classroom. Otherwise it is perfectly "safe" to teach the students in public schools of how life possibly came to be.
