Note to Reader: This story is about me, BUT my family is different. You'll understand why I changed the family when you get to the parts. Oh and I don't have chapters. (This is nothing but fan fiction, but I am responsible for the whole thing. I did it all by myself!)

"What's wrong?" The little boy walked over and sat down next to the little girl. She was sitting on a brick wall, and her feet were barely dangling.

"You're leaving to film your movie soon." She told him, with no expression in her voice. He hopped off the wall.

"I thought you were happy for me!" He glared at her. When she didn't answer, he turned around and walked off.

"Elijah..." She softly called after him. He stopped and waited a second before he turned back around. When he looked at her she spoke again. "I am happy for you. It's just...it's" She looked down at her lap.
He just stared at her expression less. She looked up and a tear slid down her cheek. "I might never see you again." When he saw the tear, his face softened. He realized that she was right. They might never see each other again. He walked up to her and hugged her. "Just promise me one thing." She told him. He pulled away and looked at her.

"What?" He asked. She looked him in the eye.

"Don't forget me." She whispered. He smiled.

"I won't." She just looked at him. He quickly added.

"I promise."

Her eyes flew open and she looked around the room. She then noticed she was in her bed, under her big, puffy, yellow, blanket. She sat up and thought about the dream she just had. No, it wasn't a dream. It was a memory. She hadn't had that dream in years. The memory of when she was seven. The day she lost her best friend.
She groaned and looked at the clock. It was 9:30. She rolled out of bed and went to the bathroom to take a shower. When she got out, she grabbed herself an apple, only because she was too lazy to make anything, and plopped down on the couch. She turned the TV. on and looked at a magazine, while flipping through the channels. While she changed the channel to see what was on MTV, the phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Samantha! It's 10:30 and you need to be here in an hour for Crawford's assignment. He wants us to do a report each. Can you make it on time?" It was Lia, Samantha's newest best friend. Brian Crawford was the author of Weekly News, a new magazine. Every week Samantha got a new topic that she had to write an article about.

"Of course I can make it, Lia. I live right down the street. Um...I'll be over there soon, so I can see about getting the assignment early. I want to come home and slouch around the rest of the day." They rapped things up and Samantha hung up, and got dressed. She grabbed her keys, but put them back and decided to walk.
She slowly made her way down the streets, watching the chaos. She stopped for a second and realized that she passed up her turn. When she went to turn around a young woman pushed her and she stumbled back into someone.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" She apologized, getting up out of his arms. He just smiled.

"That's alright." She brushed her medium brown hair out of her eyes and she saw the man's face. When he walked away she realized who the man might be. She jogged up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.

"I'm sorry for bothering you, but you look really familiar." She explained. He smiled.

"I'm Elijah Wood." He held out his hand. Her eyes got wide and she shook his hand. When he let go she was beaming.

"In that case, do you remember me?" She asked. He scrunched up his nose in confusion.

"Were you at a premiere?" He asked. She shook her head. "Did I see you in New York?" She shook her head again.

"If you don't remember me..." She started. "Then you forgot your promise."

His eyes got wide. She continued to smile. He pulled her into a big hug and held her for what seemed like forever. When he pulled away he too, was beaming.

"I thought I'd never see you again." He told her. She nodded.

"I did too," She replied. He just looked at her.

"Wow, look at you." He exclaimed, looking at her up and down. She smiled and shook her head. He hugged her again and held on to her longer. "I can't believe it's really you." He whispered. She pulled away and looked him in the eye.

"You didn't forget about me." She whispered back. He smiled.

"Of course not."

She walked around her hotel room picking things up and wiping things down. It was two days since her run in with Elijah and he was coming over in a few hours. She finished cleaning and went to the kitchen to get herself a bottle of water. She sat down on the couch and pulled out her assignment from Brian She opened the tan folder, to read the name of the report and groaned. She couldn't believe it! She had to do a report on Elijah! She sat up and put her head in her hands. This is just great, she thought. I have to do a report on my old best friend.
She was staring at Elijah's name, when there was a knock on the door. She tilted her head back and hollered.

"Come in!" The door opened and Elijah walked in. She smiled and he walked over and sat down. She looked back at the file in her lap and shook her head. She couldn't believe that she had to do this. She closed it and looked at him. "So. . ." She started. He looked up at her. "Um...well." She didn't know what to say.

"What did you do after I left?" He asked, referring to when they were seven. She looked at him and smiled.

"We moved to Colorado for a few years and when I was 11 we moved to Northern California. I moved down here a couple of years ago." She told him. He nodded.

"What about your parents? Did you leave them up North or did they move back home?" He asked. She looked down at her lap.

"My mom died in a plane crash, when she was coming to visit me last year." She looked up, her eyes filling up with tears. His eyes got wide and his face softened. "I left her up North, because of a job offering. She was coming down to see me for Christmas." She wiped her eyes. He got up and sat down next to her, pulling her in for a hug. She put her head down on his shoulder and let the tears fall. When they pulled away he wiped a tear away with his thumb.

"I'm so sorry." He whispered. She gave him a weak smile. She wiped her eyes one last time and looked up at him.

"Enough about me, what have you been doing the past 14 years?" She asked. He smiled.

"Well, I made a couple of movies when I was seven. Paradise, Forever Young. . . When I was eighteen I played in a film called Black and White, plus a bunch of other movies. I just finished filming the Lord of the Ring Trilogy." He told her. She smiled and nodded. She realized her interview and picked up her file. Looking at it, she decided to take a dare.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" She asked sweetly. His eyes got wide with shock. She laughed. "Ok, just so you don't think I'm trying to win you over." She started. "I work for a magazine called Weekly News. My topic this week just happens to be.."

"Me." He said, nodding his head. "And to answer your question, No I don't have a girlfriend. I was dating Franka Potente, but it didn't work out." He told her. She thought for a second and wrote something down in a notebook, while laughing. "What are you writing?" He asked.

"Okay, let out a big sigh of relief. Your Elijah Wood is single. He admitted to dating Franka Potente, 29, but they broke up for reasons that are unknown." She recited to him. He laughed.

"You're pretty good." She smiled.

"I try." She laughed.

They talked for hours, catching up on what they missed for fourteen years.

"No, she didn't say when." Samantha argued. "No. She told me that tomorrow was the meeting not the due date." Lia was so hard to talk to.

"But didn't she say that it was due at the meeting?" Lia asked her. Just then there was a knock on her door.

"Come in!" She hollered. Elijah and two other men walked in. She was kind of surprised. She didn't know he was going to stop by. It had been four months since their run in and they were spending a couple days a week, just hanging out. He never brought anyone over before.

"No, Lia. The cover art is due at the meeting. The assignments are due....well, we won't know when until tomorrow's meeting." She rolled her eyes, when Lia argued again. "Lia, if you don't believe me call Brian."

"Fine, then I'll call him." Lia replied.

"Ok, you do that then."

"Ok, well, I'll call you tonight." Samantha smiled. No matter how many times they argued, they never let it bother them.

"Ok, Bye." Samantha hung up and turned to face Elijah. "Hi"

"Hi." He looked at the two men. "This is Dom and this is Billy." She looked at them and smiled.

"Nice to meet you." They nodded. When she didn't say anything else Dom and Billy exchanged glances.

"Do you know who we are?" Dom asked. She nodded.

"You're Merry and he's Pippin." They smiled. She knew them, and they were glad she wasn't a crazy fan. All of them sat down on the couch, Well, Dom and Elijah sat in the chairs.

"How long have you known Lij?" Billy asked.

"Um, we were best friends when we were seven. I haven't seen him for fourteen years."

"Wow." Billy exclaimed. "Fourteen years! And your still friends??" She looked at Elijah.

"As far as I can see, yeah." She smiled. "We are." Elijah smiled back and nodded.

They talked for awhile and Samantha got to know Dom and Billy. She liked them a lot. They were really funny and exciting to be around. She never knew what they would do next. After a while they decided to get something to eat. Samantha didn't want to cook and the guys didn't want to go out, so they ordered pizza.
They sat back down in the living room and talked about almost anything, waiting for the pizza to arrive.

"So, Samantha...What is your favorite color?" Dom asked.

"Yellow." She replied, not giving the question much thought. It had been her favorite for as long as she could remember.

"Favorite food?" Billy asked.

"Mashed Potatoes." She told him. Billy laughed.

"How long have you liked mashed potatoes??" He asked.

"Since she was five." Elijah spoke up smiling. She looked over at him with her mouth open. She was surprised that he remembered that. Billy looked at her, as if to ask if Elijah was right. She nodded and couldn't help, but smile.

"Ok, what is your favorite kind of music??" Dom asked. She thought for a second.

"I like everything, except some old tunes and I can't stand rap." She replied. His mouth dropped open.

"You don't like rap?!" He exclaimed. She laughed and nodded.

"I hate listening to it. Rappers are just people trying to be cool and famous. They can't really sing, so they just talk really fast." She told them. Dom shook his head.

"Where are you from?!" He laughed. She smiled.

"I like rap, well it all depends on the song." Billy pipped up. Samantha laughed. The pizza came and everyone ate while chatting lightly. Samantha had two small pieces and said she was full.

"No wonder you're so skinny!" Dom exclaimed. "You won't eat!" She laughed. Just then the phone rang.

"Hello?" Samantha answered it and stood up. She always paced around the room when she was on the phone. She couldn't help it. Sometimes it even got her to clean the place.

"Hey it's me." Samantha smiled when she heard the voice.

"Hey, Alexis." When she said that, Elijah almost choked on his pizza. Samantha smiled.

"I was wondering. Want to go play volleyball tomorrow? We haven't played together in ages." Samantha knew that was true. When she left Iowa she left Alexis behind. They talked on the phone and Samantha convinced her to move down to LA with her. She now lived in a hotel about twenty minutes away.

"That sounds like fun. You want to spend the night? I have someone you have to see and two others you have to meet." Samantha replied.

"Yeah that sounds like fun. Who are they?"

"Well, let's just say. . you know one of them and the other two are friends of his." She replied.

"His???!" She screamed. "It's a male?!" Samantha got caught in a fit of laughter and Dom, Billy and Elijah were watching curiously.

"Yes it's a male. Come over in an hour." She laughed.

"Okay, see you then."

"Bye." Samantha hung up and sat down. Elijah looked at her wide eyed.

"You still talked to Alexis?" He exclaimed. She nodded.

"She'll be over in an hour." She spoke calmly; she was done laughing and was trying to be serious.

An hour later Alexis arrived. She came in and looked at the three men. When she recognized Elijah's eyes she squealed and ran over to give him a hug. When they pulled away he was laughing.

"Wow. fourteen years and you just look taller. Not much has changed!" She smiled. She looked at the three of them. "You three staying here tonight?" She asked. They exchanged glances.

"I don't know. We will if Samantha doesn't mind." Elijah replied. Samantha smiled.

"Sounds like fun."

"Great!!" Billy jumped up. "We'll go get our stuff." Everyone laughed and the three men left.
Samantha walked over and turned on the radio. After a bunch of 101.1 songs Alexis pulled out a Blondie cd. Samantha squealed. Call Me, was her favorite song of all time. Alexis laughed and held it away from her.

"We'll listen to it if you sing to it for me." She smiled. Samantha looked at her and shook her head.

"No way. I can't sing!" They two of them didn't know that Elijah, Dom, and Billy were standing right outside of the living room. Samantha was standing up facing the couch and looking down at Alexis. Even if she looked up, she wouldn't see them.

"Don't Make Me Hurt You!" Alexis almost yelled. "Your voice is amazing!" Samantha laughed.

"I still don't know why you think that!" Alexis looked at her shocked.

"You have talent and you know it! Sing the song or don't hear it at all!" Alexis yelled. Samantha glared at her and smiled.

"Fine! I'll sing it! Only because it's my favorite!" Alexis squealed and put it on. The music came on and Samantha tapped her hand on her thigh.

"Sing it Girl!" Alexis yelled over the music.

"Color me your color, baby
Color me your car
Color me your color, darling
I know who you are
Come up off your color chart
I know where you're coming from
Call me (call me) on the line
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me) my love
You can call me any day or night
Call me"

Elijah's jaw dropped. He looked over and saw that Dom and Billy's mouths were open too.
Alexis was clapping and swaying to the beat.

" Cover me with kisses, baby
Cover me with love
Roll me in designer sheets
I'll never get enough
Emotions come, I don't know why
Cover up love's alibi

Call me (call me) on the line
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me) my love
When you're ready we can share the wine
Call me "

She was having so much fun. Alexis was grinning from ear to ear. She loved Samantha's voice, but she didn't know why Samantha hated it so much. She was standing up and dancing with Samantha, when she noticed Elijah's head sticking out a little from behind the kitchen wall. She smiled and winked at him. He smiled back and his jaw dropped again, when Samantha continued to sing.

" Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, he speaks the languages of love
Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, amore, chiamami, chiamami
Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, appelle-moi mon cherie, appelle-moi
Anytime, anyplace, anywhere, any way
Anytime, anyplace, anywhere, any day-ay

Call me! (call me, call me, call me, call me)

Take me out and show me off
And put me on the scene
Dress me in the fashions
Of the nineteen-eighteen's
You're a man, no in-between
You know what your words can mean"

Samantha took a deep breath and Alexis squealed in excitement. She knew Samantha was going to sing her heart out on the last bit of the song.

"Call me (call me) my love
Call me, call me any anytime
Call me (call me) for a ride
Call me, call me for some overtime
Call me (call me)in my life
Call me (call me) in a sweet design
Call me, call me for your lover's lover's alibi
Call me (call me) on the line
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me), ah
Call me, ooh-ooh
Call me (call me) my love
Call me, call me any anytime
Call me (call me) my love
Call me, call me for some sweet delight
Call me (call me), uh-huh
Call me [ad lib]
Call Me!"

She laughed and took a deep breath. She saw Alexis's eyes and followed them to see Elijah, Dom and Billy looking at her with their mouths open. She shook her head.

"See! Alexis, they know I suck too!!" Samantha told her. They slowly walked up to her and Dom spoke.

"Wow." He looked at her wide eyed. "You can sure sing!" Samantha's jaw dropped. She didn't think they would agree with Alexis. Billy nodded and Elijah walked up and gave her a big hug. When he pulled away he was beaming.

"That was amazing." She smiled.

"Thanks." She shook her head and sat down. They sat up and talked through the night. Everyone wondered why Samantha didn't go and try out for a record deal. All she said was that she didn't want to sing new songs. She likes to sing songs on the radio. That's as far as she would let the topic go. They all got tired of talking and decided to put a movie in. They all sat on the floor and discussed which movie to put in.

"Let's watch a comedy." Alexis suggested. Samantha shook her head.

"No dramas!" Billy exclaimed. Everyone agreed. No dramas/romance movies.

"I don't care what we watch." Dom told them. Billy nodded.

"As long as it's not a Romance or Drama, I'm fine."

"I don't want to watch a comedy." Elijah replied. Samantha nodded.

"I want to watch a scary movie!" Alexis laughed.

"You always want to watch a scary movie, Samantha." Dom and Billy laughed.

"The girl likes to be scared." Dom spoke up, winking at her. Samantha laughed.

"Please!!" She begged Alexis. Alexis shrugged.

"It's up to Elijah." Samantha turned to him and stuck her bottom lip out.

"Please." He laughed. She crawled over to him and sat right in front of him. "Please." He stopped laughing and smiled at her. He then sighed.

"Fine. I guess I could watch one." Samantha sat up and flung her arms around him.

"I hope you like Freddy." She whispered. He jumped and she sat down and started laughing.

"What did you tell him?" Dom asked. She smiled.

"I told him, I hope he likes Freddy." Dom's eyes got wide.

"Ooooo I like those movies." He replied. Samantha started singing softly so they all could hear her.

"One...Two Freddy's coming for you. Three...Four Better lock your door. Five...Six Freddy Crucifix. Seven..Eight Better stay up late. Nine...Ten Freddy's back again."

She repeated it twice and didn't notice Dom sneak up behind her. He screamed in her ear causing her to scream and run over to Elijah. He had his arm around her and was laughing his head off.

She stood up and went to her room, grabbing a whole bunch of pillows and blankets. She came back and they made a bed out of them, all of them on the floor. Samantha took a big feather pillow and smacked Dom in the back of the head with it. He turned around and smiled. Her eyes got wide and he picked her up. She screamed and he tossed her on the couch. He threw all the pillows at her and when she got up she fell on Elijah. Dom went to hit her again and she clung to Elijah and wouldn't let go while Dom tired to pry her off.

"Elijah save me." She gasped, not letting go. Elijah was laughing his head off and Dom was still trying to pull Samantha off. Finally he gave up and Samantha let go of Elijah. She crawled over to the TV. and put in Nightmare On Elm Street. She layed back down in-between Alexis and Elijah.
