At the end of the universe
An angel solemnly stood and viewed
With a sad heart the earth
And the destruction within it.
The angel saw what most could not,
That the earth would soon come to an end,
And not by some divine apocalpse
But by mankind themselves.
He saw as they continued to destroy
Not only themselves but also each other,
He saw but was helpless to do anything.
In that moment of abcess sorrow
Down his cheek, leaving a trail as red as the
reddest rose,
Shone a tear of blood, as only angels cry.
