| Vampires started out as folklore. All countries have a tale of something that comes and drinks blood or eats the soul. Some countries have vampires in a female state. After a man is married his bride would suck his spirit. Most of these stories were meant to scare small children or teach a lesson. Vampire stories became more popular around the time of Vlad Tempes. He would impale his victims on large wooden stakes. Stories were also told that he drank blood. He was called a vampire. The book that made every one aware of vampires was Dracula. It was written by Bram Stoker over a 100 years ago. Since it was first published the book has never been out of print. Many film versions have been made out of the book throughout the years. Though many have been good none come close to the thrill of reading the book. Since Dracula was published vampires have been a part of our lives. They have been in many movies and books. |
