a little bit ME

Too often do I turn to food to satisfy either boredom or an emotional hunger, but I don't want to take substitutes for the Real Thing. I think about wanting to improve my French almost every day. I like the word anarchist. I love it when guys say my name. I feel sort of faint and caught off guard every time I hear someone speak of Joey. I want to be an everyday do-gooder. I struggle with depression and anxiety, but i hate admitting it. I have a horrible sense of direction and can't really read maps. I have learned to play chess & eucher many times but can never remember. I want to give & receive more massages because I love human touch. I want to learn to fence. I find farts incredibly embarrassing. I am a Highly Sensitive person. I love guys who play guitar. I miss sleeping next to someone. I love persuing card stores but hate finding the perfect card with no one to give it to. I find it thrilling to experience brave honesty, that opening up and expressing what it all is.

Poem for You

AND HE LOVES HER... It's sitting on the edge of the chair not even breathing / watching her gnaw on her pencap / and he loves her / It's holding her as she closes her eyes / to push back tiny tears / and he loves her / He is brushing away her fallen eyelash / wishing for her smile / and he loves her / He is lying quiet in bed / listening to her slow breath / and he loves her / Panic thoughts and clinging fingers / the idea of losing / and he loves her / Empty space and heartache / remembering lingering touch / and he loves her

Word to the Wise

"Don't love halfway." -- Sabrina Ward Harrison

ramblings...

Life doesn't make sense. It happens right in front of us where we sort of feel our way through it all and pick up where one end leaves off-- even if we don't understand because we can't get everything. You just learn that, and then you learn how to live. But the only thing I've figured out is that things are unconstant and unpredictable. Nothing works out how you plan or expect it to, but we can search for answers in how to live better and clearer paths anyhow. In this fumbling, we come upon pain, and deep down we don't really want to shut it out. Because the ability to be raw is something we crave in an inherent need to be close to what is Real. Raw is Real.

Afterthought

"...responsive and sensitive close to the surface, willing to give ourselves away. Such people rarely lead happy lives, but they do lead lives of constant growth and change." -- May Sarton
